Scott O’Rear
Senior Pastor
Scott has served as Senior Pastor of Belle Park since January of 2019. His primary responsibility is communicating vision, teaching God’s Word, and leading the staff. He has pastored churches in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas and served as a student minister for many years. He grew up in Arcadia, graduated from Louisiana Tech, and holds a Masters from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Scott has been married to his amazing wife, Tammi, since Leap Day of 1992. They have two fantastic daughters – Emily and Katie. He loves hanging out with his family, reading church history and fantasy novels such as Tolkein, C.S. Lewis, and Terry Brooks and cheering on his favorite teams.
Scott’s Life Verse is Ephesians 4:11-13 –
“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”
Jackson Powers
Minister to Students
Jackson has always had church in his life, but never just one. Growing up, he got a taste of just about every kind of service you can think of, which gave him a well-rounded view of Christian worship. He gave his life to Christ at 7 years old, and when he was older, felt a strong call to the ministry. He was licensed in January of 2020 and was ordained soon after in October of 2021. He met Emilee while serving as a greeter at church. They started dating on February 9, 2016, and were married exactly 3 years later. They’ve shared their journey of faith together ever since and have two beautiful children, Teagan and Teddy.
Jackson never saw himself working with students. He was pretty sure that wasn’t where God was pointing him, but his mom kept nudging him in that direction. He told her more than once that youth ministry just wasn’t in the cards. But, in 2022, everything changed. He had a chat with the youth pastor at Bellaire Baptist, and before he knew it, he was involved in their youth ministry. It was like God made him over and gave him a new heart for guiding and teaching the next generation. Now, he’s all in, passionate about leading them in a faith that’s been a cornerstone in his life, all with his beautiful wife and kids by side.
Robin Dean
Minister of Music
Robin studied music at Louisiana College and led the music ministry for several years at Summerfield Baptist Church in Colfax Louisiana before her husband was called as pastor at Belle Park. Robin has been a member of Belle Park for over 30 years now and has been an integral part of our music ministry as a member of the choir, singing specials both as a soloist and as part of our ladies trio, playing the piano and keyboard, and filling in wherever she was needed.
Robin’s husband, Glen Alderman, was pastor of Belle Park for over 25 years before losing his battle with cancer in 2015. She has been married to Charles Dean since 2018. She continues to serve as our Office Manager, Wednesday night supper chef, and counselor to anyone who needs a friendly ear. She loves cooking, sewing, singing, playing with her grandchildren then sending them home at the end of the day!
